Purchasing, Receiving & Warehouse
The Purchasing Department
Facilities Purchasing provides purchasing services within the Facilities Department. Venders are located, bids are sent out, materials are tracked, and purchases (made on or off-campus, along with those made to a Purchase Order and on a Purchase Card) are tracked to make sure they comply with any university policies and procedures as needed to complete work done by Facility crews on the USU campus in as timely a manner as possible.
The Receiving Department
The receiving department services the entire campus as well as Facilities. It aids departments in their receiving and shipping needs. The goal of the department is to make the turn around time of freight to same day. In order for receiving to provide service in a timely manner we encourage the campus to include their UMC and department and a name of an individual.
Warehouse
The Facilities Central Warehouse maintains an adequate inventory of those maintenance items required by the Facilities Organization. This inventory allows Facilities technicians to quickly respond to the maintenance needs of the campus with the necessary equipment and supplies.
Facilities takes advantage of reduced costs by purchasing items in sufficient quantities to receive a discounted price. The warehouse, although primarily used to service facilities maintenance needs, also makes maintenance items available to other University departments through the campus purchase card system.
